REPROBATE

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Wisdom

“Exalting yourself lowers you;

lowering yourself raises you.

To keep what you have is to lose it;

to give it away is to keep it.

To find your life is to lose it;

to lose your life is to find it.

Abundance can bring poverty;

poverty can bring abundance.

Freedom leads to slavery;

slavery leads to freedom.

Cleverness can be folly;

foolishness of God is wisdom.

Strength leads to weakness;

weakness brings strength.

The first shall be last;

the last shall be first.”

dear pastor david & the leaders of GCC:
thank you, from the bottom of my heart. for praying for us, for serving with us, for teaching us the power of prayer, for inspiring us to pray for each other. tonight we had our first prayer meeting at jenny’s house & it was truly a blessing. this past weekend, when we shared our blessings saturday night [oh wait, sunday morning], my heart truly smiled when so many felt the blessing of praying for others. your dedication to God & His ministry is something especially noteworthy, & i can’t wait to see what He has in store for your long, long lives. this weekend, my heart was cleaned of all its dark and disgusting impurities & instead filled with the Holy Spirit & i can truthfully say i’m at peace at this very moment. my homework has yet to be done, but my priorities are focused & i anticipate a blessed week. which isn’t to say it’s been easy. as soon as i went back to school, so many things went wrong. but it’s okay- God says suffering always precedes a blessing, right? i’m counting on that. but before i go too far off on a tangent, i just wanted to thank all of you once more for this truly unifying weekend. when i saw how genuine all of the sheep were today, my joy increased at such amazing levels that it’s hard not to jump up in down & sing praises to God. & i attribute some of that to God’s wonderful work through His amazing servants: all of you. this is something we really needed, & i can’t wait to see where we’ll go as a group. once again, thank you, & i can’t wait to meet again!
oh, shout out to eddie! go flufeez! thanks for making our group so fun. on that first night, when we were sharing & you mentioned that your blessing was praying for us after so many months of preparation, i immediately knew we were in for a great weekend. uh, stay healthy.

LOVE

Faith departs when we see God. Hope vanishes when the things hope for come about. But love both comes to completion and grows more when the perfect has been given. (Tertullian)

Faith does not continue after death (Calvin)

When the good things believed and hope for have come, faith and hope cease…(Chrysostom)

“For hope that is seen is not hope” (Rom. 8:24)

“40 cents/minute”

went to kinko’s late in the night.

met a man named sidney. he asked for $2 to email oprah about a dream project he had. luckily i had $3 in my wallet and shared the two. quickly and quietly i finished the work that had to be done. when i was challenged in my heart to make further conversation..however i didn’t log myself out. sidney had a long life story. an african american/black male. wife leaves him with 4 boys and a girl. his dream project stems from a love story about him leaving this land to a foreign country and meeting the woman of his dreams. he lived a long life. met many great people. played the french horn in the grammies and academy awards. he is Christian. however, how encouraging it was to share a conversation. A man in his late 50s..and i myself in the early 20s. so different our background and our views on life tainted with different circumstances and experiences.

maybe the challenge came because of my duty as a Christian.

however i learned an important lesson..people know when you speak to them out of duty or speak to them out a rehearsed verse.

the conversation evolved from the typical pattern of gestures to friendship.

we talked for 57 minutes. Cost me $24.80.

HAHAHA..

“A Man in Christ”

A poem from the book, written by Hudson himself:

“Who spoke of rest? There is rest above.

No rest on earth for me. On, onto do

My Father’s business. He, who sent me here,

Appointed me my time on earth to bide,

And set me all my work to do for Him,

He will supply me with sufficient grace -

Grace to be doing, to be suffering,

Not to be resting. There is rest above.”
